How You Can Develop An Attitude of Gratitude
Gratitude, like faith, is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it grows.” – Alan Cohen
Hello Friends,
Although we should show gratitude all throughout the year, this is the perfect time of year to talk about it, and to decide how to increase and show your gratitude better.
The Angels and I want you to imagine, right now, that you’ve just had a good night’s sleep and you’re just waking up in the morning. And, right now, with a happy thought fresh in your mind, just allow yourself to sincerely say the words, “Thank you for this wonderful day! Thank you, God! Thank you Angels!”
And right now, notice that just saying these simple words has already helped you feel better than you have felt for a long, long time. So right now, just focus on that good feeling within, and feel the gratitude now….”Thank you, God. Thank you, Angels!” And now notice how good you feel…Better than usual, right?
Why? Because an attitude of gratitude, with the Angels’ help, can really enhance your day and your life. In fact, an attitude of gratitude can make all the difference.
Gratitude blesses your life…
I have a private “Angel” Facebook group, consisting of 175 Incarnated Angel clients, that I work with on a regular basis. Sometimes, our group can be really exciting as we think of new things to talk about, and sometimes it can slow down, and not much seems to happen. But recently, I started telling everyone in the Angel group that I was going to write something that I feel grateful about every day, and I invited everyone else to do the same.
That was when things really got exciting! I wrote about things like being happy the sun was shining, and happy I was healthy, and happy for everyone in the group…And, right away, people got excited and started joining in. Most of the people in the group are spiritually based and welcome the idea of engendering an Angelic attitude of gratitude, and they seem to really enjoy it.
So on the very first day I started this exercise, not only were people in my group very excited and more willing to participate in our group than usual, but also, I noticed that even on that very first day, things in my life seemed to get much better than before.
Now to share a little about me…
I have a lot of things I want to accomplish in my life, and sometimes it bothers me that I’m not doing as much as I think I should…For example…
I want to write several books, but I’ve had a hard time staying on task and getting it done. Much of my writing goes into this blog, and into the free monthly webinars I offer through my website, and I’m happy about those things, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed…
But since I started my attitude of gratitude, I’ve been able to plan my day a little better, and I feel I’m making greater strides forward than before. Yes, there’s still more need for improvement, but now I feel optimistic and certain I will do it, whereas before I was wondering if I ever would.
Since starting my attitude of gratitude, I’ve noticed that people in my Facebook “Angel” group are talking about how things are going better in their lives. Everyone seems more upbeat, and even during the winter months, they seem to feel more energy than they had before.
Look on the bright side…
A while back, there was a storm. Of course problems can happen with a storm, but that day, while sitting in a warm building with the lights still on, I thought, it could be worse! And isn’t it better to look on the bright side, so that even if the sun isn’t shining and it’s very wet outside, it’s still shining in our hearts? So again, thank you, God. Thank you, Angels!
I like to imagine that love, joy and good fortune all go together, and often they do! Problems can and do still happen any day, along with pitfalls, and pouting and who knows what? Still more problems, but…
Your attitude will make the difference…
Have you ever noticed that with a good attitude, you can take on your problems more effectively than when your attitude is sour? I know this is true for me.
Honestly, a lot of the good attitude I have learned over the years, has been through the influence of my husband, Michael. I don’t know if you know this about him, but he’s got an incredibly upbeat attitude.
In my earlier days, while I was growing up, I have a big brother who could be a maniac when he was upset about something. He was 13 years older than me, and I remember being in the car with him once when he was upset, and was driving recklessly. He scared me so badly, but he didn’t seem to notice that, because he felt justified in what he was doing, because he was upset. It wasn’t about me, but I was the one put in jeopardy due to his state of mind. Fortunately, we never crashed, and over the years he’s changed, and now, he’s kind and patient. Thank you God and Angels!
Another thing I went through was when my ex-husband had a problem with the car, like when the fan belt went out. At such times, he’d take it out on me. In those days I was used to that kind of behavior.
Conversely, I remember the first time my husband, Michael and I had a car problem while we were together. The car stopped working at the end of an off-ramp. I immediately tensed up, because even though he was never like my brother or my former husband, I was used to those types of things going badly.
But Michael stayed completely calm, told me not to worry, that everything would be okay, and took care of the problem.
Up until that time in my life, I sometimes got more upset about various things that I never should have. I was used to those bad reactions from others, and I was following suit. But since Michael and I have been together, I have learned that most problems have solutions, and when you stay calm and even grateful for the good you already have, you tend to find the solutions much faster.
So I’m hoping that the thoughts I’ve shared in this blog post will inspire you to think each day about what you have to be grateful for, so you too can feel more energy, more love, more happiness, and notice that everything in your life is going better than before.
